TIGER TALE GRIZZLY ICE - We are pleased to introduce Tiger Tale Grizzly Ice! Griz is a solid compact macho with a commanding presence. His rich brown fleece is fine and dense, carrying a high frequency crimp. Griz had an impressive show career, with the highlight being Champion Huacaya Male Dark (Lloydminster Alpaca Showcase 2008).

Griz now has 13 cria on the ground – 9 girls, 4 boys – ranging in colour from Black to Dark Fawn.
Griz's first cria, Britney Burt, who is the same rich brown as her sire, did extremely well in her first show (Lloydminster Alpaca Showcase 2011) earning Reserve Grand Brown Female, with the judge commenting on her incredible fine fleece. Griz's remaining 12 cria were born in 2011 and we look forward to showing them in 2012! Griz is passing on his wonderful characteristics to his offspring.

Lloydminster Alpaca Showcase 2011

We had a great show out in Lloydminster. We took 6 alpacas and returned with 5 ribbons plus the Reserve Grand Brown Female which was won by our Britney Burt. Britney is our first Cria from our Herdsire Grizzly Ice. Judge Lisa Shimeld commented on Britney's incredible fineness and bright, deep brown colour.

This was Britney's first show and what a great way to start her show career.

Britney Wins

The rest of our show results were:

  • Ashby Burt - 2nd Junior Fawn Male
  • Turbo Burt - 3rd Junior Brown Male
  • Bishop Burt - 4th Junior Black Male
  • Deacon Burt - 4th Yearling White Male

The Alpaca Showcase was a great time and we had a chance to catch up with many friends and meet some new ones!

2011 Cria Crop - 10 girls 4 boys

We are very happy with our 2011 Cria Crop.  We had 14 cria (10 girls and 4 boys) ranging in colour from Black to Dark Fawn. Grizzly Ice was very busy giving us 12 cria which are showing good density and fineness. Check out our cria page for more details and pictures.

Brandon Keystone Alpaca Classic 2011

For 2011 we decided to attend one spring show, our club's Keystone Alpaca Classic in Brandon. With our new farm location it was great to only have a 14 minute drive to the show.

We are quite pleased with how our breeding program has progressed and that was visible in the show ring.

Our show results were:

  • Flower Burt - 1st Junior Brown Female
  • Aritzia Burt - 4th Yearling Brown Female
  • Turbo Burt - 2nd Junior Fawn Male
  • Bishop Burt - 1st Junior Black Male
  • Deacon Burt - 3rd Yearling White Male
  • Woodrow Rocs - 4th Yearling Brown Male
